To celebrate the men’s Manchester Derby, Booking.com has created The Half-and-Half House – a half-blue, half-red ground-floor studio that is available to book for under £20 a night.
The Half-and-Half House has taken up residence on Manchester’s First Street, halfway between Manchester City‘s Etihad Stadium and also Manchester United’s stomping ground, Old Trafford.

What do Booking.com say about The Half-and-Half House?
Matthias Schmid, Senior Vice President of Booking.com’s Trips Division, said, “Whenever Mancunians travel the globe, often the first thing they are asked is whether they are a ‘red or a blue’. They are brought together by their love of football.”
He continued, “There’s a warmth and vibrancy in Manchester that is unrivalled anywhere else in the world. Even in rare circumstances of apparent division, there is always an underlying unity. Manchester is one, no matter which side you’re on.”
You can now book to stay at the half-blue, half-red Manchester household
Excitingly, the blue/red house isn’t just for show. You can stay the night for £18.81.
This price is a nod to 1881, the year that the first men’s Manchester Derby took place.
Booking.com is also using The Half-and-Half house to make its presence known in the city.
The travel company moved into a new £80m HQ in Manchester’s Enterprise City last December.
About the move, Schmid also commented. He said, “We’ve called this city home for some time, and now have the second biggest Booking.com office in the world here, with a fantastic team from over 70 different countries coming together to make it easier for everyone to experience the world.”
