‘Agent’ Paul Pogba gets Kylian Mbappe to tell the truth about PSG situation

Kylian Mbappe opened up about life at Paris Saint-Germain with France teammate Paul Pogba when the two met up for international duty this week.

It’s no secret Mbappe is unhappy at PSG. Had the French giants accepted a Real Madrid bid last summer, there’s every chance the forward would already be at Los Blancos. Instead, Madrid will hold out to sign Mbappe on a free transfer.

Despite adding seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi to their roster this season, PSG have endured a mediocre campaign. Finishing second in their Champions League group, a last-16 tie against Real Madrid awaited the French side in the knockouts.

Cruising with a 2-0 aggregate lead heading into the final stages of the second leg, an astonishing 17-minute Karim Benzema hat-trick flipped the tie on its head. Once again crashing out of the Champions League in humiliating fashion, the critics began circling around under-fire boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Brought in a year ago to help take PSG to the next level, it isn’t easy to see how or where the former Tottenham Hotspur manager has improved the side.

This PSG team is stacked with talent but lacks a balance; in addition to this, discontent within the PSG ranks has begun to grow.

The PSG supporters summed up the disapproval of their club by booing both Messi and Neymar in last month’s 3-0 victory over Bordeaux.

While they may have won that game, PSG’s recent form has offered little solace. The Ligue 1 leaders have lost three of their previous five league matches. However, one man that continues to give his all for the Parisians is Mbappe.

There’s a certain irony in the fact the only PSG player that currently seems interested is the man who reportedly wants out of the club. A sublime talent with years at the top ahead of him, Mbappe is one of the world’s best players.

Yet, it appears as if the 23-year-old will continue his career away from boyhood club PSG. A long-time target for Real Madrid, Mbappe looks set to join the La Liga giants.

In a recent conversation with France teammate and friend Pogba, Mbappe dropped his biggest hint that a move could be around the corner.

During a warm embrace with the Manchester United midfielder, Mbappe was asked by Pogba if things were okay at PSG. Clearly disgruntled, Mbappe responded by saying, “I’m fed up.”

An astonishing revelation; it’s unclear precisely what Mbappe means by this. There have been suggestions it could be due to the club’s current form, but some theories stretch beyond that. Many believe the forward is unhappy sharing the spotlight with talents like Neymar and Messi. A move to the Spanish capital would allow Mbappe to become the leading man in his own right.

Interestingly enough, Pogba also finds himself in a similar situation to Mbappe. The midfielder’s contract with United expires in the summer, and he is expected to leave on a free. Reports suggest Pogba could return to his native France and become the new face of PSG’s latest rebuild. However, given the state of play this season, another ‘Galactico’ probably isn’t what PSG need right now.
