In an exclusive interview with Sporf, he explained: “It was a beautiful experience. Behind the scenes, a lot of things weren’t dandy. Sometimes, there’s a certain flow in your training camp—everything just works—there’s a certain level of confidence. But it was not there in the Brock fight. I was moving to the States, I was having difficulty with my management; there were so many issues in the background, some injuries.

“Fortunately, in the fight, I annihilated him. There’s no question who won that fight, but I remember walking back from the cage to the locker room, my ankle was busted. But it happened perfectly, and I was very thankful, but in the background, there were a lot of issues.”

Alistair Overeem can’t wait for BRAVE CF 100

Overeem adores watching fighting almost as much as competing himself, with the powerhouse currently in Bahrain to witness the historic BRAVE CF 100 card.

The event, which features a flyweight title clash between Muhammad Mokaev and Gerard Burns, has caught the former K1 world champion’s attention in a big way.

Overeem enthused: “It’s my first time at a BRAVE event, so I’m going to immerse myself in the fighting. I’m very excited to be here. There’s an upbeat energy.”
