Antonín Kinský has just gone through the most traumatic experience possible for a goalkeeper.
The Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain, turned into a palace of nightmares for the Czech shot-stopper, who was dragged off by his manager following two colossal errors.
Antonín Kinský makes horrendous Champions League blunders
With everything going wrong in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur, tonight’s Round of 16 clash with Atletico Madrid served as an opportunity to give the fans something to cheer about. Alas, that dream soon collapsed, with the home side hitting the back of the net after just six minutes.
After attempting to boot the ball upfield, Antonín Kinský slipped, giving Marcos Llorente an opportunity to pounce and give his side the lead.
The moment was nothing short of agonising for the goalkeeper. And sadly, it didn’t take long for things to get much worse, with Antoine Griezmann quickly doubling Atletico’s lead.
While that goal couldn’t be blamed on the goalkeeper, the third certainly could. In a mistake that must’ve left the player wanting the ground to swallow him up, Kinsky tripped again, allowing Julián Alvarez to put the ball into the back of an open net.
Having to act, Igor Tudor replaced the athlete with Guglielmo Vicario.
The drama has continued, with both teams scoring, leaving the thrilling match at 1-1 heading into the second half.
