The new Arsenal away kit for the 2022/23 football season has been ‘leaked’ online – and fans are very positive about the new design.
The Gunners have always been known for producing eye-catching kits, both home and away.
For instance, in 2005, they developed an incredible redcurrant kit to commemorate their final season at Highbury. The club wore the same colour in their first season playing at the ground in 1913.
Fans have special memories of Thierry Henry scoring a hat-trick at the final Arsenal game ever played at the famous stadium. It was also the last full season of Sol Campbell at the club, and the development of the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie into Gunners stars.
Following that special edition, Arsenal reverted to the red and white strip they have adorned for much of their history. But their away kits have been slightly different.
That is because, for most of the early 2010s, the Gunners opted for a predominantly yellow strip as their away shirt. This changed in 2015 when they went for a gold and black design.
In recent years, Arsenal have experimented with numerous colours and designs. Their 2020/21 away shirt was white, with red markings adorning the strip. Meanwhile, in 2021/22, they reverted to the yellow strip that has mainly served them well.
For next season, they have unveiled a bold yet classy design – and one that has been met with a great reception from fans.
Arsenal 22/23 away kit ‘leaked’
Footy Headlines have provided leaked images of the Arsenal away kit for the 22/23 season. The Gunners look set to wear a black away shirt with gold markings.
The primary colour of the shirt is black, with silver and grey markings around the collar and top of the sleeves.
Meanwhile, the shirt sponsor, Emirates, is coloured in gold. The old-school Arsenal badge which features on the shirt is also gold.
Fans have reacted with much excitement over the kit on Twitter:
If that wasn’t enough, it is also ranked as the top Arsenal kit of all time on the Football Kit Archive website. Good going, Gunners.
