While there may not have been much in the way of entertainment during the first half of Super Bowl 60, Bad Bunny provided plenty during his long awaited half-time show.
Naturally, social media was awash with reactions.
The choice to go with Bunny as the headline act had proven divisive across America.
Conservative voices within Donald Trump’s MAGA movement were quick to criticise the NFL for approving a performance that would be entirely in Spanish.
Conversely, many more Americans saw the booking of Benito as a unifying moment for the United States, amplifying marginalised voices and showcasing the importance of Latin American cultures and voices and what they bring to the US.

Bad Bunny Generates Tons of Reactions on Social Media
Bunny’s critics labeled him an ‘America hater’ in the build-up to Super Bowl 60.
The multi-Grammy award winning megastar had been vocally critical of ICE and the Trump administration’s violence towards immigrants.
Being from Puerto Rico, Bunny is an American citizen, which is something many of his critics continued to ignore ahead of this year’s Super Bowl.
Turning Point USA, the organisation founded by the late Charlie Kirk, aired their own ‘All-American’ half-time show, featuring Kid Rock, in direct competition.

Bunny, who’s songs generated 19.8 billion streams in 2025, performed a mesmeric 13-minute medley of some of his greatest hits, including ‘Monaco’, ‘Baile Inolvidable’, ‘Nuevayol’ and ‘Tití Me Preguntó’.
The set featured cameos from the likes of Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, with Pedro Pascal, Cardi B and Karol G all appearing on-set alongside the scores of dancers and performers, who contributed to a resounding display of Latin American pride and passion.
Across social media, the show was heralded as one of the greatest of all time. The emotional, hit-laden set bringing together all of the Americas and Latin culture.
As Bunny brought the show to a close, surrounded by friends and the flags of America and the various countries across the Americas, the message ‘The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate is Love’ appeared on the jumbotron of Levi’s Stadium.

Bunny’s half-time extravaganza even seemed to kick some life into the game itself, which had been a defence-heavy slog for the first half, but lit up later on, esepcially in the fourth quarter with the Seahawks and Patriots exchanging touchdowns to leave the score at 19-7 to the Seahawks at the time of writing.
