Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly cleared out his locker at Juventus amid links to Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 36-year-old has been rumoured to be moving away from the Serie A giants all summer, with his contract due to expire in 2022.
He had been linked with Paris Saint-Germain – but PSG chief Nasser al-Khelaifi dismissed speculation yesterday.
Now, in devastating news for Manchester United fans, their fierce rivals City have emerged as an option for Ronaldo.
His agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly been in contact with City over a potential move, although Juve want £25m in order for any transfer to take place.
With the clock ticking towards the end of the transfer window, City have just four days to get a deal done.
Sky Sports Italia reported last night that Ronaldo, through his agent, has told Juve he would like to leave.
And they have also claimed that the Portuguese icon has cleared out his locker as he looks to force a move.
That means that his 31-minute substitute appearance against Udinese on Saturday could have been his last in a Juve shirt.
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri moved to deny rumours about Ronaldo’s future before the game – insisting that he would stay at the club.
He said: “He has never wanted to leave. He told me that he’s staying and he will be in Udine.”
Ronaldo has scored 81 goals in 98 appearances since signing for Juve from Real Madrid in 2018.
However, during his spell at the club, Juve have failed to achieve success on the European stage. They have only reached as far as the quarter-final of the Champions League.
Last season, the 36-year-old smashed 29 goals in 33 Serie A appearances as Juve finished fourth – their lowest league finish since 2010/11.
