Diego Simeone was apparently left fuming during an intense Champions League encounter, according to a goalkeeping icon.
The Argentinian has enjoyed much success with Atletico Madrid in Europe, guiding the club to two Europa League titles as well as a pair of Super Cup trophies. However, he certainly hasn’t had it all his own way.

Diego Simeone was livid with Celtic for playing well against Atletico Madrid
On October 25, 2023, Celtic hosted Atletico Madrid in a Champions League group-stage match.
After just four minutes, Kyogo Furuhashi put ‘The Hoops’ in the lead before Antoine Griezmann made it all square, with the Frenchman converting his second effort after Joe Hart saved his initial attempt from the spot.
Hoping for a historic win, Luis Palma hit the back of the net for the home side with a thunderous shot before Alvaro Morata pounced on a cross to ensure his team emerged from the Scottish capital with a point.
Tonight, Atletico Madrid have bullied Tottenham Hotspur, and ahead of the match, Hart reflected on his experience playing against a team managed by Diego Simeone, claiming the gaffer was furious that the SPL club put in a good performance against ‘Los Colchoneros’.
During the TNT Sports broadcast, the former England international explained: “I’ve played against him. We drew 2-2, and we annoyed him because we had the audacity to play well against his team. He did not let up. He’s the kind of manager that smells blood, he’ll know what’s going on at Tottenham at the moment, and he’ll want to put them to the sword.”
