Drew McIntyre believes there’s a route to success for Khabib Nurmagomedov in WWE.
Now that ‘The Eagle’ is 100% retired from MMA, he’s free to do whatever he wants. Some think he’s going to largely stay within the coaching sphere in the sport, but there are always going to be plenty of opportunities out there for a man who finished his career at 29-0.
Khabib Nurmagomedov in the squared circle?
The idea of him heading to pro wrestling may initially seem strange. Then again, that was also true for Cain Velasquez.
We all know he wouldn’t immediately be the best promo guy in the world – but during an interview with TMZ Sports, McIntyre had an idea for how to solve that issue.
“[Khabib’s] so talented that I reckon he could make some noise, and if he can’t make the noise himself, we’ve got Paul Heyman. We’ve got a few talented people who can carry the load when it comes to talking.”
“MVP has done a heckuva job for [Bobby] Lashley. Maybe that’s another name to throw in the hat. But, [Khabib’s] such an amazing performer in the UFC, and if he can’t quite figure out that part, we’ll make it work.” “We’re about enhancing the positives and hiding the negatives.”
It may seem odd and it may feel unnatural, but never say never I guess?
Khabib is an entertaining guy and if he’s given a chance to show that, he could be a monster in WWE. Plus, if they put Heyman with him as McIntyre has suggested, he’d have a tremendous mouthpiece.
Drew himself is set to have a big few weeks ahead of him as WrestleMania 37 approaches. On that card he’ll be going head to head with the aforementioned Bobby Lashley with the WWE championship being on the line.
If he channels the energy of Khabib inside the octagon, we think he’ll be just fine.
