An eagle-eyed fan has spotted Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland wearing the shorts of a Premier League side – Leeds United.
In recent weeks there’s been a pretty notable series of rumours linking Haaland with a move to Chelsea. Some feel as if it’s nothing more than speculation, whereas others are of the belief that the Blues are in a sound enough financial position to actually go through with a £150 million bid.
Haaland himself has somewhat laughed off the idea that anyone would pay that kind of money for him, but in the current market, there’s every chance it could become a reality.
Could it happen one day?
Erling has had quite the rise to prominence in the last few years as the masses have seen the Norwegian grow into one of the world’s best strikers. However, many often seem to forget that his father also had a strong career in the beautiful game.
Alf-Inge Håland played for Leeds United in the English top-flight with Erling actually being born in the city back in 2000.
As it turns out, Haaland appears to still have a pretty strong connection with Leeds as per this photo.
Given the fact he’s just 21 years of age and Leeds are beginning to become a force in English football again, there’s every reason to believe this could actually be a transfer that happens at some point in the future.
For the time being he’s obviously going to focus his attention on Europe’s elite, but the nostalgia of playing for the same club his father did is bound to pull on the heartstrings.
Leeds, meanwhile, are currently gearing up for the start of their second season back in the Premier League, as they prepare to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 14.
