Everyone give up, Venezia may have dropped the greatest shirt ever

As Venezia prepare for their long-awaited return to Serie A, the club have dropped what many are understandably touting as one of the nicest shirts of all-time.

Upon revealing the design, which is the handiwork of Italian stalwarts Kappa, most corners of social media proceeded to lose their minds. A reaction that is well and truly justified if you ask us.

Already well-known for their consistently impressive kits, their switch from Nike to Kappa raised a few eyebrows when it was announced. Any concerns anyone might have had though, have quickly been put to bed.

Employing a trompe l’oeil Venetian wall texture as the body of the design, it brings a unique take on a standard block colour we’re used to seeing on football shirts.

Then of course there’s the ‘Venezia’ script which takes precedent over any potential sponsor, again, an absolute joy to behold.

The golden elements are inspired by the city’s gilded churches and palazzi, with the stars forming a V in celebration of the iconic Basilica di San Marco.

Finally, the clubs traditional orange and green colour scheme feature throughout the collar and sleeve trim, rounding everything off quite magnificently.

Absolutely nothing has been left as an afterthought, with the shorts also being pretty special in their own right.

It’ll come as absolutely no surprise, that the shirt sold out on the Venezia website immediately, but fingers crossed we’ll see a few other retailers getting it sometime soon.
