Rhea Ripley is on top of the world right now. And Dominik Mysterio isn’t too far behind.
The duo have become one of the unlikeliest success stories in recent WWE history over the last few months. As part of The Judgement Day, ‘Mami’ and Dom have aligned to become the most talked about act on the WWE roster not associated with The Bloodline’s programmes.
On screen, Ripley and Mysterio have developed a chemistry that has led to the pair of them receiving nuclear heat in arenas across the country. Especially when it comes to Dom’s feud with his Hall of Fame father, Rey.
While the younger Mysterio was unsuccessful in vanquishing his iconic dad at WrestleMania 39 recently, Ripley had a much more monumental night. The Australian finally defeated Charlotte Flair to claim the SmackDown Women’s Champion in a stunning Match of The Year contender.
Just before her crowning moment on the Grandest Stage of Them All, SPORF caught up with Ripley to discuss the creative process behind her and Dom’s on-screen magic.
“A lot of the time we go out there and we just do it. Dom and I, we just clicked. I don’t even know how or why but I’d barely talked to him before attacking him and his father. It was sort of a ‘hi and bye’ situation. But we’ve just really bonded over the last few months.

“It’s been really fun to watch him grow and grow with him at the same time. He’s a really funny dude and I really love going out there with him.
“I love seeing him go out there and have fun. When he was a babyface going out there with his dad he was just trying to please people. I’ve been through that as well and I know what that feels like. So when you decide not to care and make your own path, that’s when you really start having fun.“
And it’s safe to say the WWE crowds have been having a whole lot of fun with The Judgement Day duo. Both of their respective matches at WrestleMania 39 were met with huge reactions from the crowd in SoFi Stadium on night one of the show. And now Bad Bunny has been added into the mix ahead of Backlash in Puerto Rico next month, expect Mami and Dom’s ride to get even wilder.
The multi Grammy award winning mega star played a part in securing Dominik’s downfall at ‘Mania. Then once again became embroiled with The Judgement Day on Raw a couple of nights later. Only this time, fellow TJD member Damian Priest saw off Bunny with a monstrous choke slam through the announce table.
Ripley, meanwhile, had herself a mini war of words with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, which could be a foreshadowing of a potential mega match to come sometime in the future (COUGHwrestlemania40maineventCOUGH). But we’re sure Mami will be wanting to keep a beady eye on whatever happens with Dom and Bunny on the road to Puerto Rico.
WWE WrestleMania 39 can be streamed exclusively on Peacock and the WWE Network
