Arsenal have unveiled their new third kit for the 2021/22 season – and it has turned out to be extremely popular with fans.
The shirt is designed is adidas, and features a lightning bolt pattern which adorns the shirt and sleeves. It is a combination of two colours – ‘Mystery Blue’ and ‘Signal Cyah’, or pale blue.
White stripes adorn the top of the shirt, with a black collar.
Arsenal players were pictured in the shirt for the first time yesterday, prior to the release of the third shirt – which will be worn by both the men’s and women’s sides this season.
Design director at adidas, Inigo Turner, said: “Through the design lens of the 90’s London Zeitgeist, we reimagine this iconic moment in time with true club DNA & adidas design language from the era.
“The 2021/2022 Arsenal 3rd kit is for a whole new generation of Gunners to enjoy, and we hope the fans will really like it.”
The last sentence has indeed held true, with plenty of fans praising the new kit on social media.
The third kit will be worn for the first time when Arsenal open the new Premier League campaign at newly-promoted Brentford on Friday evening.
The shirt is a nod to the away kits used by the Gunners in the mid-1990s.

The club wore a blue and black away kit during the 1995/96 season – their first and only campaign under the management of Bruce Rioch.
Rioch guided the club to fifth place that season. He was sacked by the club the following summer after a dispute over transfer funds.
In September 1996, Arsenal announced Rioch’s impending replacement as the Nagoya Grampus Eight manager, Arsene Wenger.
