Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has refused to turn up to training for the second straight day.
The ongoing saga of Kane’s future in North London has caused quite the controversy on social media with the masses believing it’s just a matter of time before he leaves in favour of signing for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola is seemingly willing to break the bank in the name of landing the Englishman but as it turns out, Kane isn’t going about this whole process in the kind of manner you’d expect from such a “team leader”.
Kane you believe it?
Kane has failed to turn up to training with Tottenham for two days in a row with Spurs reportedly being “disappointed” with his decision to do so. However, while they are expected to fine him, they’re still anticipating a return this week with Fabrizio Romano confirming as much on social media.
“Harry Kane’s planning to return to training with Tottenham later this week. The situation regarding his future is still unresolved – to be discussed with the club. Harry will be back soon. Spurs were aware of his desire to try a new challenge, and to play UCL football.”
“Harry Kane on the same position again today morning. He’s not showing up for Tottenham training as he wants to leave the club this summer – tense situation with Spurs board.”
Just a matter of weeks ago Harry Kane was one of the nation’s heroes after his goal sent England into the Euro 2020 final. Alas, a lot can change in this sport in a short space of time, and we appear to be on the verge of a huge shift in the landscape of English football.
One thing is for sure – all eyes will be on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 15 when Spurs host none other than Manchester City.
