How to watch IBA World Championships? Times and massive prize pot for huge tournament

The IBA amateur boxing world championships are back with an enormous cash prize.

The competition, officially underway and ending on December 13, will give future superstars of the sport an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a large audience.

How much money is on the line at the IBA World Championships?

The competition, which features six UK boxers, will be staged over two sessions from 5pm-9pm local time (1pm-5pm GMT) and in the evening from 9.30pm-midnight (5.30pm-8pm GMT) from today to the semi-finals on December 11.

The final, which takes place on Saturday, December 13, will go down at 5.30pm-9pm (1.30pm-5pm GMT).

The boxers will be competing for their share of a monstrous $8.32m (£6.3m) prize pot. The money will go to the top five competitors in each weight class, with fighters taking 50%, 25% going to the coaches, and 25% to the national federations.

The money is split as follows:

  • 1st place: $300,000 (£227,000)
  • 2nd place: $150,000 (£113,650)
  • Joint 3rd place: $75,000 (£56,800)
  • 5th place: $10,000 (£7,500)

Every fight will be streamed live on the IBA YouTube channel.
