Inter Milan have officially unveiled their new snakeskin-themed home kit heading into the 2021/22 season.
The Italian giants are coming off of a sensational campaign that saw them climb back to the top of the Serie A mountain. They were able to dethrone Juventus and fend off local rivals AC Milan to capture the title, firmly establishing themselves as Italy’s top dogs for the first time in what feels like forever.
Get ready for this one, kit lovers
One thing Inter have been known for outside of their performances in recent years has been their kits. Whether it be home, away or a third strip, Inter Milan as a club always seems to pull something fresh out of the bag.
Their latest effort, it’s safe to say, continues their trend of thinking completely outside of the box.
In a statement, the club explained the reasons behind the design and some facts about its creation.
“Inter and Nike have today unveiled the new home jersey for the 2021/22 season, the first of its kind featuring the club’s new crest, while also welcoming back the special commemorative patch after the Nerazzurri clinched a 19th Scudetto in May. Meanwhile, Inter’s partnership with Lenovo, which goes back to 2019, has now reached a new level with the technology firm now appearing on the reverse of the strip.
“The polyester jersey, which is constructed with at least 95% recycled plastic bottles, features a snakeskin design as a nod to the Biscione, which is the historical symbol of both the club and the city of Milan, and which plays a prominent role in the hero video that was posted on Inter’s digital channels today. The video showcases the link between the Nerazzurri and the city of Milan, with the Biscione visiting various symbolic places in the city that mean so much to the Inter faithful.”
Inter’s title defence and the new Serie A season will begin next month.
