Italian national broadcaster claims AS Roma will announce Cristiano Ronaldo deal tomorrow

In a bizarre turn of events, AS Roma will reportedly host a ceremony with club legends to announce that they’ve signed Cristiano Ronaldo.

Throughout his career, the Portuguese sensation has always played at the pinnacle of the sport. And despite his advancing age, he’s still capable of bamboozling the best of defenders and putting the ball in the back of the net.

Although he’s not as quick as he once was, his footballing IQ remains, and he continues to work like an animal in the gym to ensure that he can compete at the highest level.

Therefore, he believes that his hard work warrants a place in a successful team, which, sadly, Manchester United isn’t. Although The Red Devils have an incredible history, since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, they’ve spiralled into the abyss.

When the forward made his return to Old Trafford, he assumed he could turn the fearsome tide. But alas, the Manchester side has fallen further, and the player understandably has his concerns. Football 365 reported that he’s willing to leave the club, and one of Italy’s best sides have thrown their name in the mix.

Cristiano Ronaldo heading to AS Roma?

Admittedly, the Europa Conference League winners don’t sit at the top of the footballing pyramid. However, they did manage to pick up a trophy last season. And that’s more than can be said for the club where the forward currently plays his football.

According to Italian broadcaster, RAI, on June 29, which marks a holy day in Rome, the Serie A giants will host a presentation at the Olimpico. During the ceremony, Francesco Totti will give his number 10 shirt to Lorenzo Pellegrini, who in turn will give his number 7 jersey to Ronaldo.

The news has left fans in a state of confusion. On the one hand, the reporter is clearly laughing while reporting the story. But on the other side of the coin, why would a national broadcaster report a ‘joke’ story?

All United supporters can do now is cross their fingers and hope it isn’t true.
