Juventus can overcome Galatasaray in the Champions League if they do one key thing, says former football star

It isn’t over for Juventus against Galatasaray just yet, according to an ex-Italy coach.

Tomorrow night, the European giants will host the Turkish side at the Allianz Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League play-offs. And having lost the first leg 5-2, the 36x Serie A winners need a miracle to progress to the next round.

However, in the eyes of one of their former stars, the players only need to do one thing to give themselves a real chance.

Cesare Prandelli says Juventus can beat Galatasaray

Cesare Prandelli, who represented Juventus on 138 occasions, is confident his old team have what it takes to overcome the odds and send the Süper Lig leaders crashing out of the competition

In his eyes, all ‘La Vecchia Signora’ needs to do is hit the back of the net early.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Prandelli claimed: “Scoring three or four goals against Victor Osimhen and his teammates without conceding will be difficult, but after the first leg in Istanbul, who would have imagined Galatasaray scoring three goals in 45 minutes against ‘The Bianconeri’? Luciano Spalletti’s team can do it, why not?

“If they take the lead in the first 20 minutes, the psychological aspect changes.”

Will Juventus rest players ahead of Roma match?

With Juventus likely heading home, some are wondering whether it would be worth resting players ahead of the Serie A clash with Roma.

However, Prandelli is outraged by this idea, insisting: “No. The match against Galatasaray should be seen as the most important of all, you can’t have two doubts about it. Coming back in the Champions League would give them momentum heading into the Stadio Olimpico.”
