Kell Brook apologises over leaked video of him snorting white powder

Kell Brook has ‘vowed to seek help’ after a video emerged of him snorting a white substance at his Sheffield home.

The footage leaked, by an unknown individual to the Sun, shows the British boxing great using a roll-up to inhale the substance off a glass table, with his IBF belt mounted to the wall in the background. He then rises from his seat and tells the cameraman, “nice”, before shadowboxing for added effect.

Last year, the 36-year-old walked away from the sport after securing a career-best victory over long-time rival, Amir Khan. But despite finally settling the beef with his arch-nemesis, the win didn’t have the impact he’d have liked.

Similarly to many boxers before him, the Ingle fighter is having difficulties adapting to life without the sport. Going without the routine of regular training camps and the buzz of making that walk to the ring has had a detrimental impact on his well-being.

Addressing the situation, he tweeted: “I messed up, I hold my hands up & want to apologise to my family gym friends & fans.

“It’s no secret that I struggle with mental health & I’m finding retirement really hard. I’m actively seeking the help I need to get me on the right path. Again I apologise for the hurt I’ve caused.”

In January, ‘Special K’ was rumoured for a massive comeback fight against the winner of Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jr. And with ‘Beefy’ triumphing via fourth-round knockout, fans had started to salivate over another tasty British dust-up. But for the time being, it looks like any chance of a Northern derby is off the cards.
