Vintage shirt aficionados could be in for a treat if the rumoured Manchester United away shirt proves to be real.
The away strip in question is set to be released in July ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. However, images have been leaked early, giving United supporters a potential glimpse at what to expect.
The trefoil dream
The folks at Footy Headlines seem to believe they will use the old-school Adidas trefoil logo. If they did, it’d be the first used on a major club’s kit since the early 1990s.
The shirt itself serves as an obvious throwback the iconic kit from the same time period, one that was donned by the likes of Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce and a young Ryan Giggs.
The blue and white pattern is reminiscent of what the first team wore in the years just before the new Premier League came into effect.
Obviously this should be taken with a pinch of salt as nothing has been confirmed yet, however, a throwback to this particular shirt has been rumoured for some time now, so it’s not an absurd suggestion by any means.
The new #mufc 21-22 away kit will feature the Adidas Trefoil Logo becoming the first major football shirt to do so since the early 1990s.

While Adidas’ latest tenure withe club has been a little hit and miss among fans, there’s no doubting this will go down a treat, should it prove to be accurate. Especially if they go ahead and include that trefoil logo.
