While Manchester United have come on leaps and bounds under Erik ten Hag, according to Louis Saha, the squad is still missing one crucial ingredient — Harry Kane.
Since hanging up the boots, the Frenchman has become a popular pundit, giving his interesting opinions on everything football. But while he’s an expert on all aspects of the beautiful game, he pays extra special attention to the club he once called home.
At the peak of his powers, the ex-striker possessed an incredible arsenal of footballing tools. In an impressive four years with United, he showcased his lightning speed and silky skills, en route to bagging an incredible 42 goals in 124 appearances.
He also helped the side pick up two Premier League titles, a League Cup and most impressively of all, a historic Champions League trophy. However, in the years since his departure, the Manchester club fell into the abyss. Despite David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, doing all they could, none of them could fill the void that Sir Alex Ferguson left behind.
But since Ten Hag has entered the fray, the English giants have shown glimmers of their best. Although, according to Saha, they still need one more big signing.
Louis Saha wants Manchester United to sign Harry Kane
Without doubt, Kane has stood alone as The Three Lions’ number-one striker. But despite his clear ability, he’s chosen to remain at Tottenham. But Saha believes it’s time for him to move on.
Speaking to OLBG, the 44-year-old said: “If Manchester United want to win the Premier League, then Harry Kane is the man who can help them do that. I respect Weghorst, but he does not have Kane’s quality and I am sure that he will want to play with Rashford every week.”
Saha continued: “He has committed to Tottenham for a long time and done wonders for them. I don’t think anyone will hold it against him, because he has proven his loyalty and shown that he is a Spurs fan. However, at this point his time he deserves his shot at some accolades and Manchester United is the best team for that.”
