Mamadou Sarr slammed for ‘Horrible defending error’ during Chelsea vs PSG

Mamadou Sarr just made a massive blunder during the second leg of Chelsea’s Champions League Round of 16 showdown against PSG.

Last week, ‘The Blues’ produced a valiant effort against the reigning champions of Europe, with the game balanced on a knife-edge at 2-2, until PSG ramped up a gear, scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes to win the game 5-2.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, it appears the French side has kept its momentum going into tonight’s fixture.

Mamadou Sarr makes Champions League blunder

Mamadou Sarr is undoubtedly on the cusp of big things in his career. The Senegalese international, who’s just 20 years old, has already won the Club World Cup and impressed fans with his physical strength, tackling ability and accurate passing. Alas, this evening won’t go down as one of his greatest nights.

PSG hit the ground running, scoring after just six minutes. After the ball was booted upfield by Matvei Safonov, Sarr took an awful touch, which allowed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to pounce.

The Georgian capitalised on the error, striking the ball past Robert Sánchez to give his side the lead.

Of course, fans were quick to head to social media to criticize the talented player.

One said: “Horrible defending error from Sarr,” while another added: “Sarr looks lost.”

A third wrote: “Sarr made a huge error leading to the goal. This club is finished.”

Unfortunately, the situation only got worse for the 5x Premier League winners with Bradley Barcola doubling the away club’s lead before half-time.
