On September 14, he’ll go head-to-head with Tim Wilde inside the Bellator cage, in a match-up that has garnered the attention of MMA enthusiasts.

The fight will mark the first step in the next chapter of the sportsman’s story after he made the decision to sign with the PFL, off the back of some advice he received from the legendary Francis Ngannou.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Diakiese explained: “I’ve known Francis for a while, he’s like a big brother. I was training at Xtreme Couture, and I told him my situation. He was just advising me. He was already signed with the PFL, and he said, ‘I think they’ll look after you. Go there and put on a show. They’ll take care of you, and you’ll feel welcomed’. So, to me, it made sense.”

On October 19, ‘The Predator’ will fight for the PFL heavyweight championship against Renan Ferreira in a monumental event. But first, he’ll be watching with intrigue this weekend, hoping his friend gets the job done.

What does the future hold for Marc Diakiese?

With a new lease of life, the talented fighter has been training hard in Portugal, Doncaster and at GB Top Team, where he’s enjoying every step of the journey towards setting foot back in the cage.

Claiming there should be cameras watching his antics with Brad Pickett inside the gym, ’24/7′, Diakiese is in fantastic spirits. And as Mike Tyson once said, ‘A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter’.

The 31-year-old beamed: “My ambition in PFL is to win the title and the million dollars. But for me, I feel like I’m at a stage where I need a platform to showcase my skills. I started MMA at 18, so I have a lot to show. I feel like I’m at the stage of my career where it’s all coming together. So, I really want to showcase that, so I’m grateful to PFL.

“I’m going to put myself out there and show I’m one of the best. I want to enjoy it. I’m starting to realise that this doesn’t last forever. I want to make some great memories.”
