WOW: Neymar’s top five goals of his legendary career
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on playing with Neymar
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Neymar linked up beautifully at PSG, with the pair of natural-born goal scorers leaving defenders shivering with fear every single time they set foot on the pitch.
Notably, the Cameroonian bagged a late winner against Atalanta in the Champions League, which prompted his teammate to amusingly invade his post-match interview.
Now, Choupo-Moting, who’s playing for New York Red Bulls in the MLS, has reflected on his time on the pitch with the superstar.
Looking back on that magnificent night, the 36-year-old enthused: “I remember that game, and I think the whole of Paris will never forget that game — it was a special moment for me. It showed that we had a great atmosphere in the team, and we’d had a great season. We didn’t win the final, but we made it to the final. This game was special for me, and it was a world-class performance from Neymar — it was crazy how good he played. We won this game in a late thriller because there were two goals in the last five minutes from our side.
“Neymar is a great guy, and one of the best footballers in the world. He might be the best technical player I ever played with. We speak from time to time, I follow him, and he follows me here in New York. He’s a great guy, and hopefully I’ll see him with the Brazilian team when they come to New York.”
