Barcelona’s brand new home shirt has arrived ahead of the 21/22 season and it’s certainly a little more ‘out there’ than we’re perhaps used to.
This time round, Nike has reimagined the traditional stripe layout in a pattern that has been inspired by the club’s crest.
Different segments of the shirt feature each different element of the badge, before being combined with the familiar Blaugrana colours.
The Saint George’s cross, patron saint of Barcelona and la Senyera joins the Catalan flag to complete the bold design.
The modern take continues into the shorts too, with those taking on a half-and-half colourway that are far more welcome than those god-awful scarves that send chills down the spine of most football fans.

Nike’s sustainability drive
Nike’s commitment to sustainability has also played an important role in the design of the new strip, by using 100% recycled polyester obtained from used bottles to create a very fine thread.
