A training image of Riqui Puig has gone viral on social media, as it shows him looking like a spitting image of Robin van Persie.
The 21-year-old Puig plays as a midfielder for Barcelona with many hoping to see him get more minutes under Ronald Koeman this season. There’s no guarantee that’s going to happen given the rebuilding project in place at the Nou Camp right now, but one thing is for sure – Puig has all of the traits necessary to kick on and become a legitimate star in Spanish football.
Alas, away from all that incredible potential, there’s something else that’s caused a stir when it comes to the youngster. A recent shot of Puig during training has led many to joke that he looks like Robin van Persie, with RVP himself even getting in on the act.

Puig will be hoping he can begin to replicate some of the success the Dutchman enjoyed throughout his career, with a UEFA Cup, FA Cup and Premier League trophy to his name, along with the title of the Netherlands’ all-time leading score.
Barcelona will begin their new league campaign at home on August 15 when they play host to Real Sociedad.
