Fans of the old school will be big fans of Puma’s latest boot drop.
The brand has dipped back into its decorated archives, revisiting one of the most iconic silhouettes of all time, the Puma King.
Widely regarded as the pinnacle of ‘no-nonsense’ design, the King’s simple but elegant blueprint has ensured it remains one of the most loved boots of all time.
Donned by the likes of Pele, Eusebio, Maradona, Johan Cruyff and more recently Neymar – it’s a legacy that was destined to stand the test of time.
With the new Platinum version, Puma have sensibly stayed true to the simplistic approach on the whole.
Available in both white and black iterations, the upper keeps wonderfully clean, though a shimmering golden soleplate adds an eye-catching splash of colour.
Thierry Henry chipped in to the design process too, which goes some way in explaining the effortless style of both colourways.
Both are available to purchase over on Pro:Direct now.
“Lead by example with the PUMA King Platinum football boots, which deliver a fresh update to a classic that adorned the feet of some of the game’s all-time greats.” The description reads.
“The new version, designed with input from Thierry Henry, is considerably lighter than its predecessor but stays true to its heritage with a Kangaroo-leather upper with 3D touch texture for a premium feel on the foot and on the ball.”
Stunning. Simply stunning. Just in time for grassroots coming back too, so you can look good despite gassing out after the first 15 minutes.
