The pair of football legends recently went head-to-head in an entertaining clash between Chicago Fire and Vancouver Whitecaps.

Reflecting on their journey from teammates to rivals, Lewandowski enthused: “We spent many years together playing at Bayern Munich. Thomas was one of the players who understood me the most. I could close my eyes, and I’d know exactly where Thomas was going to be, which position, what kind of ball he’s going to play; his connection was something different.

“Now, in the MLS, we’re enjoying soccer, the city, the life. He’s happy to play for Vancouver Whitecaps, and I’m happy to play for Chicago Fire. We have huge potential.”
