The latest edition of WWE SmackDown got off to a wild start as Ronda Rousey was arrested by police, shortly after attacking some security guards.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion was suspended and fined, in storyline, after attacking a referee following her SummerSlam loss to Liv Morgan.
She returned last week with a bag full of cash, and a point to make. Rousey demanded that WWE lift her suspension, before confronting Shayna Baszler and leaving the arena.
This week, she opened the show. Rousey once again told General Manager, Adam Pearce, that she wanted her suspension lifted.
However, Pearce came out and instead told ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ that he did not have the power to lift her suspension. He then directed four security guards into the ring in order to escort Rousey from the arena.
She dealt with the first two comfortably, before attacking a third and putting the fourth in her vicious armbar submission hold.
As she exited the ring and walked down the entrance ramp, she was confronted by two police officers. Ronda Rousey was then arrested and escorted to the nearest police car.
Is Ronda Rousey scheduled for Clash at the Castle?
At the moment, Ronda Rousey is not scheduled to take part in the Clash at the Castle premium live event on September 3 in Cardiff, Wales.
‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ remains suspended in storyline. The SmackDown Women’s Championship will be defended again by Liv Morgan, who takes on Shayna Baszler.
Meanwhile, the other confirmed match on the card sees Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair, take on the team of Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky. The final of the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament could also take place on the night. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
