Seth Rollins apologises after SummerSlam match off, Triple H responds

WWE star Seth Rollins has apologised to fans on Twitter after his match against Riddle at SummerSlam was pulled from the card – and Triple H was quick to respond.

On Saturday, Rollins was due to face ‘The Original Bro’ in Nashville. In addition, the match was eagerly anticipated amongst WWE fans, with the pair in an exciting feud.

However, to fans’ disappointment, WWE announced on Wednesday that the match would no longer be taking place.

Why is Riddle v Rollins off?

An injury to Riddle is the official reason given by WWE.

In a statement on their official website, they stated: “Seth “Freakin” Rollins injured Riddle with a vicious attack on Raw that resulted in a brachial plexus injury (a stinger), which caused significant weakness. As of now, Riddle is medically disqualified until full strength returns.

“Due to this injury, Riddle’s match against The Visionary at SummerSlam has been postponed.”

Fightful Select reports (via WrestlingNews) that Riddle is not suffering from an injury. However, WWE are reportedly planning for the match to take place at Clash in the Castle – the first UK premium live event in 30 years.

However, Rollins is still scheduled to be in Nashville over the weekend. That has fuelled fan thoughts that he might be in action anyway.

Seth Rollins sends an apology to fans, Triple H responds

Posting on Twitter, Rollins wrote a heartfelt apology to fans who had been wanting to see him in action.

He said: “For anyone who purchased a ticket to SummerSlam, hoping to see me in action, I apologise.

“I did everything I could over the last six months to earn my spot on this show, but some things are out of my control.

“Thank you for always singing my song. They’ll hear ya someday.”

The tone of Rollins’ tweet immediately sparked concern amongst fans. However, a reply from the new head of creative, Triple H, put some minds at rest.

He simply wrote: “I hear you!”

The tweet suggests that Triple H may have something up his sleeve for Rollins at SummerSlam. Furthermore, fans haven’t lost hope that ‘The Visionary’ will compete at the event in some respect.
