EXCLUSIVE: Eddie Hall is convinced Tom Aspinall would ‘wipe the floor’ with Jon Jones if the American ever dared set foot in the cage with the British heavyweight.
The 2017 World’s Strongest Man has discovered exactly what the UFC interim champion is all about during rigorous sparring sessions, which have resulted in him concluding there’s no man alive capable of beating the 31-year-old.
Eddie Hall is adamant that Tom Aspinall would destroy Jon Jones
Blessed with thunderous power and lightning speed, Tom Aspinall is quickly proving himself as the most dangerous fighter in the division.
Having rendered the likes of Curtis Blaydes and Sergei Pavlovich unconscious, ‘The Honey Badger’ has done more than enough to earn his shot at the undisputed title.
Alas, Jon Jones seems reluctant to give it to him, and has instead chosen to pursue a match-up with Stipe Miocic.
And according to Eddie Hall, while a potential clash between Aspinall and ‘Bones’ makes sense, the American should go above and beyond to avoid facing the Englishman.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, he said: “I think that’s the fight everyone wants to see. Tom really wants that fight to prove he’s number one. Jones has the fight with Stipe Miocic coming up. If he wins, I think it would be wise for him to retire before he fights Tom, because Tom is just a different league. I think Tom would wipe the floor with Jon Jones if I’m being honest.”
Having gone head-to-head with Aspinall in the gym, Hall is capable of giving an insight into just how much of a monster the MMA star really is.
The strongman explained: “Tom’s an amazing guy. I sponsor Tom through Beast Farm. Tom is so deceiving. He’s such a nice guy, dead pleasant, but he’s got that flick switch. I’ve sparred and wrestled with Tom, and it’s like being in the cage with a lion. He’s someone who just plays with you, but you know, at any point, he could rip you to pieces.”
Eddie Hall wants to team up with Tom Aspinall in a tag-team MMA match against Clash Royale icons
In his sensational career, Hall has already scaled the world of strongman, and is now pursuing major collisions in MMA.
Away from the cage, he’s also a massive fan of gaming, recently travelling to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, for a massive campaign with Clash Royale, in which he challenged the locals to play him at the game on the world’s heaviest phone case.
During an advert broadcast during UFC 306, two of the most terrifying characters, P.E.K.K.A and Mega Knight went head-to-head in a battle Hall described as ‘The fight of the century’.
The savage pair have both received evolutions, making them even more ferocious than ever before.
However, Hall believes the duo would be no match for him and Aspinall.
He laughed: “Me and Tom would smash them up all day long. Bring it on.”
But with P.E.K.K.A capable of annihilating her opponents with her sword, and Mega Knight renowned for hitting with the power of 100 moustaches, the Clash Royale characters might disagree with Hall’s assessment.
