Tyson Fury’s newborn in intensive care as he sends out touching message

Tyson Fury has thanked fans for their well-wishes after he revealed his newborn baby is in intensive care.

“The Gypsy King” has always been known as something of a family man from his close relationship with his father all the way through to the Fury children. Now, Tyson has yet another reason to celebrate after his sixth child Athena was born on Sunday morning.

Alas, the miracle of birth isn’t always quite that simple, with Fury releasing the following statement asking for prayers from his fans – raising concerns that something had gone wrong.

“Please can everyone pray for my baby girl who was born this morning Athena Fury. Born 8/8/21 thanks.”

In the last few hours, Tyson has followed up on that with another short message through his Instagram page.

“Massive thanks for all the messages and support. The baby is in a stable position & doing well hopefully she comes out ICU today. Please keep baby Athena in your prayers. Paris is doing great. God bless.”

While we all know Tyson Fury to be a bit of a joker and a wind-up merchant, there’s one thing that he cares about above all of his boxing success and mainstream fame; his family. Their safety and wellbeing come first, as is the case with any good father, and it’s great to see the boxing community get behind him.

Fury is scheduled to next step into the ring on October 9 to take on Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
