The UFC has revealed the official trailer for Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s trilogy fight next month.
These two men have already gone to war twice before, once at UFC 178 and then again at UFC 257 in January. Conor was able to get the better of the fight at featherweight but all these years later, it was Poirier who brought him back down to earth with a vicious TKO win on Fight Island.
McGregor vs Poirier – time to settle the score
The lightweight greats will now collide in a bout that is set to crown a new contender to Charles Oliveira’s newly won title, with his first defence expected to come later on in the year.
As if fans weren’t already hyped enough for this epic tussle for bragging rights, the UFC has now released a sensational promo that documents the journey of both men as they prepare for the biggest fight of their respective careers.

After beginning with the story of McGregor’s rise they moved onto the UFC 178 meeting in September 2014. On that night, Conor seemed to get into the head of Poirier to the point where ‘The Diamond’ simply couldn’t handle the pressure.
Then, this past January, Poirier used calf kicks and pinpoint boxing to tear through McGregor’s power shots and level up the scores at 1-1.
Some will continue to argue that Dustin should’ve pursued the title shot but it doesn’t feel like that’s the story here. He wants to solidify his position as the better man over McGregor and, as we all know, taking on ‘The Notorious’ is a lucrative payday that doesn’t come around all too often.
This looks set to be settled in the biggest PPV of the year, and it’ll go down in Las Vegas at UFC 264 on July 10.
