The match at St James’ Park got off to an exciting start, with the home side delivering in abundance just four minutes into the fixture.
When a saved effort arrived at his feet inside the box, Sandro Tonali pounced, sending the ball flying past the helpless goalkeeper to give his side the lead.
The goal sent the crowd into raptures, with the fans understandably expecting more excitement to follow. And it took just 80 seconds for their wishes to come true.
Pouncing on a well-delivered cross, Joelinton smashed the ball home to double his side’s lead.
