As their season continues to spiral further into the abyss, Man United fans have one thing to look forward to – the likely announcement of Erik ten Hag.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, the team supporters came to know and love has fallen down a hole. Regardless of who was at the helm, they’ve failed to even scratch the surface of their glory years. Elite-level managers such as Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have put their heart and soul into the project to no avail.
They enjoyed a minor resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the Norwegian bringing in a ‘feel-good factor.’
But ultimately, his lack of experience at the top level found him wanting—or so it seemed. After the club sacked him, they brought in tactical genius Ralf Rangnick.
But even the highly-regarded German hasn’t been able to find a way to whip the squad back into shape. This has left the fans questioning whether the blame should lie at the feet of the manager or the players.
They currently stand in seventh place in the table, with the chance of qualification for next year’s Champions League rapidly dwindling. The Manchester club hasn’t won a trophy since 2017, and that doesn’t look like changing any time soon.
Yet there’s still a silver lining for fans to grasp onto. Come the start of next season, they hope to have a new manager at the wheel, and there’s a sense of optimism that he’s the man to steer the 20-time league champions back on course.

When will Manchester United announce Erik Ten Hag?
The Dutchman has long been linked with United, with many believing that he has the minerals to take on the challenge. The club have wanted Ten Hag since the start of the season, and now it looks like they’ve finally secured his services.
The 52-year-old has impressed pundits around the globe through his achievements with Ajax. He’s guided the Dutch side to two Eredivisie championships, with a third likely on the way, not to mention his incredible run in the 2018-19 Champions League. His side made it to the semi-finals, defeating Real Madrid and Juventus en route.
His iconic 4-2-3-1 formation always provides excitement, making him a perfect fit for the Theatre of Dreams. And by the looks of it, the fans won’t have to wait too long for the confirmation of his arrival.
Esteemed journalist David Ornstein revealed in The Athletic that Manchester United have already reached an agreement in principle for the Dutch coach to become the next manager. The news outlet reports that he’s signed a four-year contract.
Ajax is fully aware of the situation and still has to reach an agreement with United. Fans can expect the official announcement to come shortly after the Dutch Cup Final on April 17 at 5 PM. Ten Hag’s Ajax collide with PSV Eindhoven in an eagerly anticipated match-up that could be one of his last in Dutch football.
