Last year, the Scottish team made up of Peter Wright and John Henderson defeated Austria in the final to emerge as world champions. But to defend their title, they’ll have to overcome a conveyer belt of elite teams at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany.

Every year, the knockout tournament showcases the growing standard of darts worldwide. A total of 32 teams compete for the right to claim the trophy in matches that consistently showcase the passion only found at the pinnacle of the sport.

It provides thrills, spills and outright entertainment and luckily, fans don’t have long to wait before the competition gets underway.

The tournament commences on Thursday, June 16, and finishes on Sunday, June 19.

  • Thursday, June 16 – Evening session – 6pm
  • Friday, June 17 – Evening session – 6pm
  • Saturday, June 18 – Afternoon session – 12pm
  • Saturday, June 18 – Evening session – 6pm
  • Sunday, June 19 – Afternoon session – 12pm
  • Sunday, June 19 – Evening session – 6pm

How to watch the 2022 World Cup of Darts

The entirety of the tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, who own the exclusive rights to the competition.

Those who don’t have an active subscription, meanwhile, can head to the pub to watch the arrows in an atmosphere rivalling that in the arena.

What is the World Cup of Darts prize money?

In this year’s event, the players will be competing for a considerable amount of money.

The total prize pool on offer is £350,000, with the winners splitting a whopping £75,000 between them.

This year the draw has thrown up some exceptional matches. Scotland will start the defence of their crown against Hong Kong, while England and Wales will play Czech Republic and Philippines, respectively.

Northern Ireland will open their campaign against Gibraltar, and Republic of Ireland will take on Canada. In addition, the legendary Paul Lim makes his annual appearance for Singapore in a tough fixture against Denmark.
