Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has posted a photo to Twitter which shows her wearing a heart monitor.
The 25-year-old Australian Superstar can be seen wearing the device on her chest.
Ripley has not yet confirmed the reason behind why she was wearing the monitor, or whether she is still wearing it. The device is normally used to track heart rate and rhythm, and generally provides information about heart activity.
She posted a photo showing the device, alongside the caption: “I’m Iron Man.” She also posted the photo on Instagram, with the same caption.
Why has Rhea Ripley been out of WWE action?
Rhea Ripley has not been seen on WWE programming since the June 13 edition of Raw. She was involved in a promo segment with the Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair.
Ripley was due to challenge Belair for the title at Money in the Bank on July 4. That was as a result of winning a number one contender’s match against Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss and Doudrop on the June 6 edition of Raw.
However, the 25-year-old suffered a nasty injury during the match in question. After taking a DDT, her leg got caught on the ropes upon landing. It then rebounded up, striking her square in the face.
Ripley did complete the match and won. However, it was subsequently announced that she would not be cleared to compete at Money in the Bank.
During her promo segment with Belair, Ripley could be seen wearing braces on her front teeth. She had earlier taken to Twitter, writing: “Knee – 1. Teeth – 0.”
Later in June, Ripley responded to a fan on Instagram, confirming that she was suffering from a brain injury.
Since then, the Australian has not appeared on WWE programming. There is no official timescale set for her return.
Speaking in June, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Ripley was “not expected to be a long-term absence“.
Her match against Belair at Money in the Bank did not take place, with the defending champion defeating Carmella at the premium live event instead.
