Aaron Rodgers has been involved in a plethora of Titanic collisions during his time in the NFL, with the football legend recently recounting some of his best.
The gifted athlete, renowned for his eye for the perfect pass, has made a reputation for dominating whoever comes up against him, but on occasion, his opposition has given him a run for his money, forcing him to go the extra mile on the field.
Aaron Rodgers recaps his greatest NFL battles
On Sunday, the New York Jets suffered a tough 23-17 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.
During the fixture, Aaron Rodgers showed flashes of greatness, while ultimately falling slightly short of the brilliance expected of him.
Going into the fixture, Vikings icon, Jake Reed, famed for his sparkling performances as part of ‘Three Deep’ alongside Cris Carter and Randy Moss, said the toughest part about dealing with the Jets is their esteemed quarterback.
Upon being informed about this at the post-match press conference, Rodgers rolled back the years, reliving some of his on-field battles with Vikings stars of past and present.
The 40-year-old told Sporf: “Well, I’ve had a lot of wins over the years against the Vikings. So they know me well. Now, it’s not the same record maybe in Chicago, they probably hate me a little worse. But there have been some great battles over the years.”
“I saw another legend that I played against in Jared Allen. First time I played against him, he sacked me five times. A couple of those times, I didn’t have a chance. It was so damn loud at the old Metrodome.
“I’ve enjoyed the battles over the years. Unless we both get to the Super Bowl, the way the schedule is laid out, I’m not sure there’s going to be another one.
“So, it’s been good battles over the years. I have a lot of respect for that team. Some of those guys, I guess there’s less now, but Harrison Smith, I played against him since his rookie year in 2012, I believe. A lot of respect for him. A lot of great battles over the years. Thankful for the rivalry. Although it’s not as big of a rivalry as Green Bay/Chicago.”
