Boca Juniors are very, very good at releasing really nice football shirts.
It’s no recent trend, that iconic blue and yellow combination holds its own proud spot in the history of footballing pop culture.
This time round, Adidas and the Argentine club have teamed up to celebrate the neighbourhood of La Boca, situated in Buenos Aires.
With the club’s 115th anniversary just around the corner, their new third shirt pays tribute to colours and atmosphere of the surroundings, and draws inspiration from a tourist hotspot called Caminito, which translates to ‘little walkway’.
Its end result is this charming, standout creation which features lashings of bright geometric colours designed to represent the unique buildings that make up the iconic setting.
“The history of this shirt is inspired by the La Boca neighbourhood, understanding that it is a unique and special place that represents the Xeneize spirit. In this way, what this shirt reflects is the authentic link between the club and the neighbourhood. What began as a neighbourhood, today is synonymous with passion anywhere in the world.” The club’s official website reads.
The shirt is also made from recycled materials, a common theme in terms of Adidas’ recent pledge to ending plastic waste.
