Ander Herrera trolls Marcos Rojo over fire extinguisher incident

Ander Herrera has trolled former teammate Marcos Rojo in relation to a recent incident that saw him wield a fire extinguisher.

Last night during Boca Juniors’ Copa Libertadores Round of 16 tie against Atletico Mineiro, a controversial VAR decision went against Boca on what proved to be a heated evening of action.

Atletico wound up going through on penalties after another goalless leg, but after the match, chaos ensued in the tunnel with Boca Juniors furiously protesting against what happened.

Rojo was one of the men involved in all of this with footage being released of him not only getting into an altercation with a security guard but also of him picking up a fire extinguisher in anger.

One man who saw the funny side of this was none other than Ander Herrera who spent five years as Rojo’s teammate at Old Trafford.

The jokes are going to keep pouring out about this over the course of the next few days but in reality, this does highlight just how intense things can get down in South America. They’re passionate about their football on a whole other level and the Copa Libertadores is considered to be one of the most prestigious prizes in the entire sport.

Whether or not your team progresses is an important, if not vital, part of the season, and the fact that it came down to a VAR decision will sting particularly hard for someone like Marcos Rojo.

Herrera, on the other hand, who was signed during the same transfer window as Marcos, will be focusing his attention on the new campaign as Paris Saint-Germain attempt to reclaim their Ligue 1 crown.

Boca Juniors, meanwhile, are only just getting started in the Argentine Primera Division with their hope being that they will end the current season with their 35th title.
