Anthony Taylor vs Idris Virgo confirmed for KSI vs Dillon Danis undercard

On January 14, Anthony Taylor will collide with Idris Virgo in one of the highest-level crossover bouts yet.

While some have found his antics irritating, there’s no denying that Taylor is one of the most entertaining fighters on the scene right now. From wrestling with reality TV stars to nearly knocking out Dillon Danis in a car park, he’s certainly made a name for himself. However, his opponent for Misfits & DAZN Series X: 004, is potentially his most challenging adversary to date.

After losing to Tommy Fury, Chris Avila and Jay Cucciniello, the American bounced back with a victory over Rak-Su, before going toe-to-toe with Love Island winner, Jack Fincham. And despite the Essex brawler having endured an impressive amateur career, Taylor dismantled him with ease.

But in a matter of weeks, he has a much stiffer test, against a man who is just as divisive as he is.

Anthony Taylor and Idris Virgo will go toe-to-toe on MisFits and DAZN: Series X 004

The 29-year-old Brummy has accumulated a professional record of 12-0-1, in which he’s shown a decent level of skill. However, like many modern boxers, he traded the gloves for reality TV, starring in Love Island and The Challenge. But now it seems he’s back invested in the ‘sweet science’.

However, despite his lengthy record, he hasn’t faced anyone of note. He’s exclusively battled it out with journeymen, which could leave him in bother if Taylor piles on the pressure. But thanks to Virgo’s sheer size advantage, he should go in the favourite.

Regardless, it should make for a great fight and an even better build-up. Virgo loves to play the villain, even drenching his unassuming opponents with water. And there’s no doubt, if he tries that with Taylor, we’re bound to have havoc on our hands.
