Brock Lesnar return 2022: What we know so far about his WWE comeback

Fans have waited almost two months to find out whether Brock Lesnar will make his return in 2022, and they are expecting to hear about his next comeback.

The WWE Universe hasn’t heard a peep from ‘The Beast Incarnate’ since Roman Reigns pinned him and consequently relieved him of his title at WrestleMania 38. And now they’re wondering how Vince McMahon will bring the menacing star back.

The powerhouse loves to win, and has always portrayed himself as one of the biggest bad guys in the company.

However, prior to his defeat to ‘The Tribal Chief’, he developed a new gimmick. Lesnar switched his image and started to express his love for farming and hunting. He even cracked a joke or two, and fans loved this new side of his personality. Therefore, wrestling enthusiasts don’t know which version of Lesnar they’ll get when he does make his comeback.

However, they’ve had to wait longer than expected to find out. Here’s what we know so far about the potential return of Brock Lesnar to WWE in 2022:

Will Brock Lesnar return in 2022?

The company advertised the wrestling icon as part of their promotion for WrestleMania Backlash. But ultimately, he never took part.

As per Sportskeeda, the only reason WWE did this was in order to not spoil the result of his fight with Reigns. Lesnar is not currently advertised for the next premium live event, Hell in a Cell, which takes place on June 6.

Lesnar is in the process of taking some time off after a busy schedule since his return last year. But with blockbuster PPVs like Money in the Bank and SummerSlam just around the corner, fans are hoping for a summer comeback.

Lesnar also has been called out for a WrestleMania 39 match by Bobby Lashley this week, live on WWE programming. It is the clearest sign yet that the ‘Beast Incarnate’ will return to the company at some point – although the question of when is still to be answered.

Will Brock Lesnar return on a part-time or full-time basis?

As per Fightful Select (via Republic World), he has signed a contract that means he only has to wrestle 8-12 times a year.

Lesnar would, therefore, compete on a part-time basis. The contract covers big premium live events. Since his return at SummerSlam, the ‘Beast Incarnate’ has competed in four of those events, meaning he likely still has matches left on his deal.

However, on the bright side, that will make his performances extra special. And with a summer return likely, wrestling enthusiasts are wondering who his next opponent could be.

Who could Brock Lesnar face upon his WWE return?

Apart from the obvious Lashley match, a battle with Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle whets the appetite, as does a rematch with Reigns or a showcase with newly-promoted giant Gunther.

However, there is another option that stands out from the pack. John Cena looks almost guaranteed to make his triumphant return in the coming months.

And who wouldn’t be up for watching Lesnar go toe-to-toe with the 16-time world champion?

Last year’s SummerSlam event concluded with Lesnar performing several F5s to a stricken Cena. With the latter taking another absence of leave from the company immediately after the event, neither man has crossed paths again since. Given their history, however, a storyline could undoubtedly be cooked up between the pair by WWE creative.
