After playing a starring role in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Arsenal, Bruno Fernandes was probably feeling pretty good. Until he got stuck in traffic.
The playmaker was soon brought down to size by a fantasy football revelation.
Bruno’s drive home
The United icon probably wasn’t expecting to feel humiliated after his side’s victory over Arsenal. However, a fan pulled up next to Fernandes and, within a matter of seconds, burst his bubble. The upsetting news he had to tell the player concerned his fantasy team. There was no room for Fernandes because of Mo Salah’s presence.
Fernandes reacts with comical impetuousness, waving his hands in dismissal before driving off. All the fan can do is shout his justification desperately.
“You saw him yesterday!”
Indeed, Salah was tremendous on Wednesday night in Liverpool’s 4-1 victory at Everton. He scored a brace, continuing a fine run of form.
Perhaps the midfielder didn’t agree with the decision.
Liverpool battered United 5-0 in October, with Salah scoring a hat-trick.
The Liverpool defeat heaped more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer, who eventually departed Old Trafford as manager of the club. Supporters were already restless. However, for many, there was no going back after the Liverpool debacle.
Fernandes vs Salah
So far this season, the United midfielder has made 20 appearances in all competitions for United, scoring five and assisting six.
In comparison, Salah has made 19 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, scoring 19 and assisting seven.
As for fantasy football points, Salah is way ahead with a total of 146 points. While Fernandes has registered 64 points.
We tend to back the fan’s decision on this one. Sorry, Bruno.
