‘Buy Manchester United’ trends on Twitter as fans go begging to Elon Musk

If Manchester United fans weren’t already desperate enough to get rid of the Glazers, they’re now begging Elon Musk to buy the club.

As football enthusiasts, we’re in a never-ending chain of watching billionaires purchase ownership of teams around the globe.

However, as much as we all complain about the financial side of the game, we’ll happily turn a blind eye when it comes to our own club.

And this couldn’t sum up the position United is in any better.

The former European greats have tumbled from the top of the world all the way down to laughing stock territory. They’ve not won a trophy in five years, and this season, they might not even make the Europa League.

So fans have taken Twitter to try and draw the attention of one of the world’s most famous men. They believe he has the financial power to take their beloved side from the depths of despair back to their glory days.

The businessman has made an astronomical amount of money throughout his career. He seemingly has the ability to take his hand to anything. He’s founded PayPal and SpaceX and become the CEO of Tesla. This has culminated in him accumulating a staggering net worth of $269.7 billion, making him the richest man on earth.

So regardless of how much he knows about football, there’s no doubt that he’d find a way to take ‘The Red Devils’ back to their glory days.

Why do Manchester United fans want Elon Musk to buy their club?

Although Musk has spent a considerable amount of time in the public eye, United fanatics have only just honed in on him.

After Musk purchased Twitter for $44 billion, they realised that he’s more than willing to splash the cash. Consequently, they’re under the line of thought that Musk could help them secure the signatures of the best players on the market.

But even with his wealth considered, there’s not a queue of star-studded players standing outside Old Trafford right now.
