After a 10 year absence, CM Punk is finally back in a WWE 2K video game.
And the Straight Edge Superstar has wasted no time in using this news as another opportunity to troll Drew McIntyre.
Having been absent from the WWE 2K series for a decade since leaving WWE in 2014, Punk has been included in 2K Games’ latest DLC pack. The ECW Punk Pack, which is available now, is headlined by the former WWE Champion and also features iconic ECW originals such as The Dudley Boyz, The Sandman and Hall of Fame legend Terry Funk.
With his war of words with McIntyre growing more intense by the week, Punk opted to further stoke the fire by hyping his 2K return with a shot at the man whom he embarrassed at WrestleMania XL, last month, costing the Scotsman his newly won World Heavyweight Championship in the process.
Punk Is Taking His Trolling Of McIntyre To The Extreme
Taking to Instagram, Punk posted to his 1.3 million followers:
“Good news, everybody. CM Punk is finally available to play in WWE 2K24. It’s making waves on the internet, so you know Drew McIntyre’s watching it. I’m put in the Punk Pack, that includes myself and some hardcore legends from ECW like Sandman, The Dudleyz, and the most hardcore legend of all, Terry Funk. Now Drew, if you are watching this, let’s face it, it’s on the internet, so you’re watching it. You can finally play as your favorite wrestler and human being, me. CM Punk. Hope you have a terrible day, pal.”
Following his return to WWE at Survivor Series in November of last year, Punk immediately became a hugely requested addition to WWE 2K24, which became the highest rated console game in WWE 2K history upon its release in 2023.
Iconic ECW Moments Can Now Be Relived In WWE 2K24
Punk made his WWE debut as part of the relaunched ECW brand, back in 2006, briefly becoming ECW Champion before moving to Monday Night Raw, where he won the World Heavyweight Championship, in 2008. That would be the same championship he cost McIntyre at WrestleMania XL, last month, attacking the Scotsman after his victory over Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and allowing Senor Money In The Bank Damien Priest to cash in his contract and end McIntyre’s reign in mere minutes.
Rounding out the ECW Punk Pack is a special ECW Paul Heyman Manager MyFACTION card, celebrating the founder of ECW and recent WWE Hall of Fame inductee. Between them, these Superstars bring 46 new moves and taunts into WWE 2K24, which can also be used for custom Superstars in the creation suite. Each playable Superstar also comes with their own MyFACTION card.
Following the ECW theme, new weapons, including a barbed wire baseball bat, light tube, and wooden door, will also make their debut in the game.
