Cody Rhodes reignites feud with John Cena for shocking reason… ‘The rivalry is intense’

EXCLUSIVE: Cody Rhodes has taken aim at John Cena, with the wrestling legend imploring the WWE Universe to help him destroy his rival once and for all.

The pair have shared many a heated battle inside the ring, in which both men have pushed the other to their limits. However, their latest feud could be the most explosive yet.

There was once a time when Cody Rhodes and John Cena lived peacefully as part of the same clan in Clash of Clans. However, those days are a thing of the past. ‘The American Nightmare’ has recruited his fellow superstars, and indeed, fans from around the globe to help him hunt down his countryman’s base, with rewards up for grabs.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Rhodes explained: “I want to give John his proper due. The rivalry is intense, and we’re embroiled in this Search for Cena — millions of players worldwide, looking for John, looking to raid that base, with me looking for him personally. But I wouldn’t have known about Clash if it wasn’t for John. On the road, he started his own clan, ‘The O’Leary Clan’. He was gemming like crazy, so we could get the good troops from him. All of that has dissipated; he’s not the clan leader he was — we’ve got a proper clan up and running, ‘The Nicky Clan’, where every lass a queen, every boy a king, and I’m the Barbarian King in this game, for the second time. This is what we would call in the wrestling game, ‘A receipt’. We never got the opportunity when he was in the clan with us to raid that village, so now we’re going to raid that village if we can find him.”

Having cemented his status as a WWE legend, Rhodes is basking in the opportunity of exploring the movie industry, with the sportsman having shared a wonderful experience with Liam Neeson.

Opening up about his time in the business, the American enthused: “Street Fighter, which is coming out next month, is so good. Kitao Sakurai did such a great job; he’s done something for everybody and made the story unique for our time. It was such a beautiful experience.

“Before I went and did that. I was able to do one day on set on Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson. I asked Brandi [Rhodes], ‘Hey, do you think I should do this? It’s one day, and it’s hard to get back, but it would be amazing’. She said, ‘He’s a Jedi’. I love that we looked at him that way; we didn’t think of Schindler’s List or all the other movies he’s been amazing in. We just thought, ‘That’s Qui-Gon Jinn’. Of course, I did it, and he was so gracious, and we had some banter. To see the movie, and have that bit be in there was such a warm way to enter this world.”
