Michael McKinson says Conor Benn is ‘Easy money’

Michael McKinson has had an incredible journey. From one of his earliest boxing memories of watching Johnny Tapia at York Hall, to his dad sending him to stay with Ovill McKenzie for a week in Derby to spar Rendall Munroe, to even flying over to Los Angeles, California, USA, to defeat Alex Martin, it’s fair to say the warrior has enjoyed a remarkable ride. However, despite having already achieved so much, he’d love nothing more than to have the opportunity to go head-to-head with ‘The Destroyer’ in a monstrous domestic clash.

When asked during an exclusive interview with Sporf whether a bout with his countryman is still possible, the athlete replied: “Without a doubt. I think Conor Benn for every British welterweight, and probably every welterweight in the world, is the fight we all want. A lot of people don’t think he’s necessarily world-class, but he brings the biggest pay packet. Easy money.”

Michael McKinson thinks Mohammed Sahnoun is out of his depth

While McKinson is undeniably excited at the prospect of battling it out with Benn, he must first get past a determined competitor who’s never tasted defeat. However, having overcome the likes of Chris Kongo, the talented practitioner of the sweet science, believes he has far too much for his opponent.

McKinson explained: “He’s very confident, and he’s looked very good in the videos we’ve seen, but that’s at a very low standard. So, he’s gone from swimming with goldfish to swimming in open waters with a shark. It’s a big jump for him, but he has looked good, which is why he’s confident he’ll do well. But my job is to make him feel every bit of my experience and the knowledge I’ve gained over the years.”
