Conor McGregor is back to his old tricks on social media with another “tweet and delete” – this time directed towards Daniel Cormier.
“The Notorious” has been on the wrong end of some pretty bitter feuds throughout his time at the elite level in the UFC and that’s really been brought to the forefront in the last few years. In addition to threatening to kill Dustin Poirier after also accusing his wife of sending him a DM on Instagram, McGregor decided to mock the death of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father who passed away due to COVID-19 complications last year.
Did Conor go too far?
In response to that, Khabib’s close friend Daniel Cormier had his own thoughts on McGregor’s actions.
“[Conor McGregor] Absolutely crossed the line. I think when stuff like that is being said, it’s a cry for help. Conor has all the money in the world, he has all the fame, but now when you start to dig at that level, it’s like somebody needs to get to McGregor and help him to start to kind of re-shift his mind and his focus and get him back to a better place. It’s unfortunate.”
In what appeared to be a direct response, McGregor opted to mock Cormier as his tirade against the mixed martial arts world continues.
“‘Clean check right there by Poirier’ fat drunk f*** DC”.
McGregor, as many will see, was taking a shot at Cormier’s commentary during the trilogy fight between Conor and Poirier at UFC 264.
The two-weight world champion now needs to focus his attention on recovering from the leg break he suffered at the end of the first round in the aforementioned trilogy showdown. Of course, that’s easier said than done, but the less time spent on Twitter for McGregor right now, the better.
