Conor McGregor has revealed why Sergio Ramos turned down tickets to attend his fight against Dustin Poirier.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender rejected tickets from McGregor for his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas, while the Irish conceded that he did not know who the veteran defender now played for.
The fighter, who admitted his supporter for Manchester United earlier in the year, has become friends with the former Real Madrid skipper Ramos via social media.
And despite the offer of tickets, Ramos was forced to decline attendance.
He messaged me today saying he’s signing for a new club and he’s not going to be able to make it, said McGregor.
He thought he had more time. He had the tickets.” McGregor then went on to reveal he had forgotten who Ramos played for.
“Who’s he signing for? Signing for something new or something?” he asked.
War of words
It comes as McGregor attempted to Poirier ahead of their showdown at UFC 264, in what was a heated meeting.
At their press conference on Thursday, McGregor delivered some taunts to his opponent.
“You’re getting walked like a dog in that octagon on Saturday night!,” McGregor exclaimed. You’re only a little b****. Your wife is your husband.
“You’re only a little b**** of a thing, a silly little hillbilly. Jolie’s wife! You little b**** of a thing.
“You used to be a lot better than that,’ Poirier responded. ‘The trash talk was a lot better than that.
