Conor McGregor has promised to bounce back in style after successful surgery on his UFC 264 leg break.
Last Saturday night in Las Vegas, McGregor came out firing in what proved to be a thrilling trilogy showdown against Dustin Poirier. The two exchanged many blows across the five-minute affair with McGregor focusing most of his attention on a string of heavy leg kicks, possibly in an attempt to get back at Poirier for his brutal calf kicks in their January rematch.
Will Conor vs Dustin 4 happen?
Unfortunately for “The Notorious” that was seemingly one of the reasons why, at the end of the first round, he stepped back on his leg and broke it – leading to a doctor stoppage.
McGregor proceeded to undergo surgery and promptly updated his fans on his condition through an entertaining Instagram video yesterday.

“I needed to get treatment on my leg and my ankle and I needed to get treatment on the shinbone and I would have never committed to going under the knife unless something like this has happened.”
“What I needed was a titanium shin bone so now I have a titanium rod going down from the knee to the ankle and the doctor says it is unbreakable.
“First of all I have to manage the incision and make sure it doesn’t get infected and keep the health on it and get it back that way.
“Then I’ll start playing with the balance and learning how to stand on it again, learning to stand on the single leg again.
“Then I’ll build the strength and then I’ll have an unbreakable titanium leg. What a story it’s going to be.”
As questions continue to circulate regarding McGregor’s future inside the octagon, Dustin Poirier is likely going to be busy preparing for a UFC lightweight title shot against Charles Oliveira.
